Visitors to Caracas will arrive at Simón Bolívar Airport, located 25 kilometers from the city center. Connections from the airport can be made via bus or private car. Taxis are also an option. Visitors are generally recommended to utilize the official government busses (SITSSA). Tickets are available directly at the airport terminal. Rental cars are also available, with highways easily connecting to Caracas. Once in the city, the Caracas metro is recommended as it is safe, modern, and cost efficient. Visitors should be always aware of their surroundings and avoid bringing large sums of money or expensive objects with them. Generally, it is advised not to leave your hotel at night when in the city.
