Havana – Buy

Visitors may find that Havana is more expensive than other destinations in the region; this is in part to its dual economy whereby visitors will pay in CUC currency (not pesos). Shopping catered to visitors is generally located on pedestrian roads including O’Reilly, Obispo and Obrapia – however the stores are generally expensive. Markets near the harbor tend to be cheaper. Some of the more popular items for purchase include comic books about the Cuban Revolution as well as propaganda posters and books related to the historical events of the nation.
